Jon Haidt introduced me to de Waal's research and writings during my first semester in grad school. Like Jon, I have been tremendously influenced by several of de Waal's books including Good Natured: The Origins of Right and Wrong in Humans and Other Animals and Chimpanzee Politics: Power and Sex among Apes. I highly recommended both books.
